The actual parsing is done in the implementations folder, through the parse() function. Thats generally a good file to work through, as it contains the major structures of the save, and I tried to keep the fields in order. I had started on documenting it at one point, you can see the remaining bits of documentation over at. you are in a maze of twisty files, all alike. Is there a description of the save format anywhere? I keep seeing references to 600 as the game-time of 1 cycle as well. The experience to the next level from the current one would naturally be the experience from 0 to next, subtracted by the experience from 0 to current (the "num" variable above) upon closer look, I would guess that the total experience required to go from level 0 to level TargetLevel is In my hazy, sleep deprived state, it sort of maybe looks like Triangular Numbers, which I have used when writing similar leveling systems. I'm sure this math can be explained easier, but its too early in the morning for me to attempt to understand what its really doing. (currentLevel + 1) / MAX_GAINED_ATTRIBUTE_LEVEL,

Offline editing: Under settings, enable "Offline Mode" for use when no internet is available. Local editing: The save file is never sent to any server all edits are performed in browser Why is three the magic number? I feel having from 1-6 for the start is a great range.A browser-based tool for editing ONI save filesĬompatility follows the most recent stable branch The looking for type helps, but it also can upset me by having redundant or late game bonuses for Dupes that need immediate simple specific skills.Īnd for that matter, why do I need three? What if I want to see how well *one* duplicant can survive before he finds a hatch egg, names it Wilson, and dies in a puddle of his own pee. and I might spend half an hour or longer to get a good starting trio. I want a good digger / builder, a good doctor/researcher, and a good artist/athlete (for running and hauling) to start, and I prefer each enjoys staying on task and doesn't compromise the ecosystem I am trying to build.

Why not just have a Dupe Designer, for at least the first three? Is there a mod for this? If you want me to appreciate playing with randos - don't let me have infinite rerolls. The issue is most of us just wait for the game to give us dupes we want via grab bag mechanics where there is NO consequence. We have infinite re-roll at the start, so there is no reason to ever use them. They have included traits no one who wants a colony to survive more than 200 cycles, so no one chooses them. The grab bag mechanic for your starting Dupes is odd and dated. TLDR: Is there a mod or way to choose traits and number of your starting Duplicant selection? Am I the only one who feels this way? Best Early Access done right ever for a game I knew I would play far more than most MMOs! In the first place, Klei has outdone my expectations. Now the game has launched, I can only be happier with one thing I feel this game is missing custom template Duplicants. I usually checked in after updates, but I would also skim the forums and drop in some suggestions. I have now played about another 200 hours.
I bought this day 1 of early access, but I only played about 100 hours before launch my personal limit for any early access game.
